Inaugural Post

While I won't be breaking a champaign bottle on the bow of the ship, I would like to invite you all to come aboard for a fun ride. (don't worry, all of our posts won't be this cheesy)

I'd like to start this blog of with a discussion on why Brian and I are tackling this complicated issue, and also let you know what we hope to get out of it.

We see a lot of trends (social, political, and economical) that create a need for Farm to Fork Information Technology (F2F IT). We have a population that is growing and becoming increasingly more urban. We are struggling to feed this population yet substantial portions of food we produce are lost to spoilage.

But what can we do about it? As two MS-MBA students at Boston University, Brian and I have the ability to see what technological developments are emerging, analyze their impact on the current market, and project a future technology stack for the F2F sector. With only a semester to complete our research project, we know that we won't be solving the food problems of the world, but we feel that there is real value to be found in investigating the effect of F2F IT and the business world that it creates.

We hope you enjoy and take part in this thought exercise in the form of comments on our posts or suggestions for our research.

Thanks for stopping by, continue to check back in!
